Pat Shepherd has owned Pat’s School of Dance for 51 successful years! Pat and her staff are certified by Dance Masters of America and Dance Educators Of America, both prestigious dance teacher organizations.
A student of dance has the obvious advantages of developing strength, rhythm, coordination, improved posture and gains in self confidence. The classes at Pat’s School of Dance offer rich rewards to its students, such as discipline of mind and body, love of good music, pride in the pursuit of excellence and a love of dance as an art form.
Pat Shepherd is proud that her studio remains loyal to the fundamentals of dance. We find that a trained student in the fundamental basics of tap, jazz and ballet will find it easier to excel in other areas of dance including but not limited to hip hop, lyrical, ballroom, contemporary and modern.
At Pat’s School of Dance there is also an award winning performing arts troupe. Over the years Pat’s students have won thousands of awards including many Highest Scores of the Day, 1st Place Overalls, Best Overall Studio and the coveted Dance Educators of America President’s and Director’s Award. Memorable past performances include the Sugar Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, Disney Performing Arts Showcase at Walt Disney World Resort Orlando, Holiday Bowl Halftime Show in San Diego, Atlantis Resort Showcase in the Bahamas, the Orange Bowl Parade in Miami, Pearl Harbor Day Ceremonies & Parade in Honolulu, Dance at Sea with Carnival Cruise Lines and the Orange Bowl Halftime Show in Miami.
Pat, along with some of her former dancers (and her husband, John) worked in the 1987 smash hit movie Dirty Dancing. In May 2017, Pat and her faculty were featured dancers in the new remake of Dirty Dancing which was aired on ABC TV.
Your child, as a student of Pat’s School of Dance, will belong to a dance studio family that provides growth and advancement in every avenue of dance.
